Accounting Associate (2-3 years experience) _ direct hire _ Columbus, OH

Description:PRIME AE Group, formerly PRIME Engineering, is a well-established and growing Civil Engineering and Architecture firm with (10) office locations. We are looking to add (2) Accounting Associates (2-3 yrs exp) to our team in NE Columbus, OH.

This is a direct hire role.
Pay is open and negotiable.

Summary / Overview
• Works with and supports the existing Accounting Associates to ensure that day to day transactions of the business are processed accurately and timely and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. These day-to-day functions include: Payroll, AR, AP, timesheets, invoices, etc.
• Interacts with other areas of the company to complete account reconciliations, assemble financial reporting, and complete ad hoc projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare accounting and business performance measurement reports at pre-determined intervals.
• Review sales billing prior to invoicing to ensure profit margin accuracy and implement corrective action on costing errors.
• Assist Staff Accountants in reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Provide back-up support to Accounts Payable Specialists in coding and processing invoices.
• Assist with the bi-weekly payroll (paid every other Friday – 26 pay cycles).
• Assist with setting up new hires in payroll and timesheet systems.
• Special projects and other job related duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• One year of accounting related experience.
• Technologically savvy with experience in MS Office products and Windows-based computer applications.
• Experience with DelTek (timesheets and invoicing program) is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
• Strong mathematical, analytical and critical thinking skills for monitoring accounting records and resolving accounting issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work with confidential information.
• Ability to multi-task and engage in/execute assignments with a wide range of areas of focus with direction and guidance from the senior Staff.
• Self motivated and directed – independent worker but also able to work on a team

Preferred Qualifications
• 2-3 years of accounting related experience preferred but candidates with lesser years experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience within Accounting/CPA firms is highly preferred
